NYC startups that raised money in 2026
By Solomon Wiesen, editor. Updated October 16, 2026. Editorial standards | How this site is funded
New York startups raised $17.41 billion across 521 deals in the first seven months of 2026, up 56% from the same months of 2025, according to AlleyWatch’s count of Crunchbase data. Below are 44 of those rounds that I could confirm with a source and a New York City headquarters, worth $8.56B together, from Kalshi’s $1 billion Series F to a $4 million seed for a Brooklyn sublet marketplace.
For 12 of them I also pulled the company’s Form D from the SEC, which shows how much money was actually sold and the address the company gave regulators. Those filings don’t always match the headlines; the comparison is further down.
The five biggest NYC rounds of 2026
- Kalshi, $1 billion Series F (March). The prediction market exchange raised at a $22 billion valuation in a round led by Coatue. Its Form D shows $1.12 billion sold against a $1.5 billion offering.
- Ramp, $750 million (June). The corporate card and spend software company, based on West 23rd Street, raised from ICONIQ, GIC and Ontario Teachers’. Bloomberg reported on October 13 that Ramp is raising another $1.85 billion; I have not counted it because there is no company announcement or new filing yet.
- Wonder, $650 million Series D (July). Marc Lore’s food hall and delivery company. At the time of its Form D, $354 million of a $600 million offering had been sold, so the round was still filling.
- Cyera, $600 million Series G (June). A data security company led by Evolution Equity Partners. Its US headquarters is at 1375 Broadway, though it was founded in Israel and much of its engineering team is in Tel Aviv.
- Flourish, $500 million (June). An AI research lab in West SoHo with its own data center, backed by Catalio Capital, Jeff Bezos, Lux Capital and GV.

Amounts are as announced. “Report” links to the announcement or news story; “Form D” links to the SEC filing where one exists. Neighborhoods come from Form D addresses where available, and a few of those are mailing addresses rather than offices.

What the 2026 numbers show
- AI is taking most of the money. In May, AI companies took 66% of New York venture dollars, $1.32 billion across 32 startups, per AlleyWatch’s May report. In February, 40 of 76 NYC deals were AI companies.
- June was a record month. AlleyWatch first reported $4.70 billion across 81 companies, with 12 rounds of $100 million or more, though its July report cites June at $3.90 billion, so treat the exact figure as subject to revision.
- Deal count peaked early. January had the most rounds of any month, 113 totaling $1.68 billion, 26.3% of all US venture funding that month.
- Fintech still writes the biggest checks. On this page, fintech and insurance account for 11 rounds and $3.28B, more than AI’s $2.8B, because Kalshi and Ramp alone add $1.75 billion.
- Health care is steady. 10 health and biotech rounds totaled $942.2M, led by two mental health companies, Talkiatry and Grow Therapy.
- Brooklyn shows up, but Manhattan dominates. Cityblock Health on Flatbush Avenue, Blank Street in Williamsburg, Beyond Reach Labs and snag are the Brooklyn companies here; Biotia’s lab is in Long Island City. Every other company with a known address is in Manhattan.
Form D filings against the headlines
A Form D is the notice a company files with the SEC when it sells stock under the private offering exemption. It reports the amount sold so far, not the amount announced, so the two can differ for honest reasons: a round still being filled, a second close, or several rounds folded into one filing. Here are the 12 companies with a 2026 filing I could find on EDGAR.
| Company | Reported round | Sold per Form D | Offering size | SEC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kalshi | $1B | $1.12B | $1.5B | Filing |
| Ramp | $750M | $782M | $868.3M | Filing |
| Wonder | $650M | $354.4M | $600M | Filing |
| Modal Labs | $355M | $204.9M | $205M | Filing |
| Cityblock Health | $116M | $206.2M | $206.2M | Filing |
| OpenRouter | $113M | $113.5M | $117M | Filing |
| Taktile | $110M | $110M | $110M | Filing |
| Proxima | $86.3M | $91.5M | $91.5M | Filing |
| Blank Street | $75M | $105M | $105M | Filing |
| Semafor | $63.6M | $63.6M | $63.6M | Filing |
| Kashable | $60M | $42M | $42M | Filing |
| K Health | $58.9M | $58.9M | $68.9M | Filing |
The biggest gaps: Cityblock’s filing shows $206.2 million sold against a reported $116 million, Blank Street’s $105 million against $75 million, Modal’s $204.9 million against a reported $355 million, and Kashable’s $42 million against a reported $60 million.
How this list was built
- A round is included only if a published source confirms the amount and the company’s headquarters is in New York City.
- Companies that only have a sales office here were left out, including VAST Data, whose roughly $1 billion Series F in April would otherwise rank near the top. Companies whose filings list another state, such as Gauntlet (Dallas), were also left out.
- Neighborhood and borough come from the Form D business address where one exists.
- Many mid-size rounds rely on AlleyWatch’s monthly rankings, which classify companies as New York-based using Crunchbase data.
I’ll update this page monthly. If your NYC company raised in 2026 and isn’t here, the contact page is the place to send the announcement.

Common questions
How much did NYC startups raise in 2026?
AlleyWatch’s count, based on Crunchbase data, puts it at $17.41 billion across 521 deals in the first seven months of 2026, up 56% from the same months of 2025. The 44 rounds verified on this page add up to $8.56 billion.
What was the biggest NYC startup funding round of 2026?
Kalshi’s $1 billion Series F in March, led by Coatue, is the largest confirmed round. Ramp was reported in October to be raising $1.85 billion, which would be larger if the company confirms it.
Where can I check a startup’s funding round myself?
Most US startups that sell stock file a Form D with the SEC within 15 days of the first sale. You can search filings by company name on EDGAR at sec.gov, and the form shows the amount sold, the offering size and the company’s business address.
Funding figures are as reported by the companies, the press or SEC filings, checked in October 2026. This page is not investment advice.
