How this site makes money, and what that does and does not change about what we write.
Startups #nofilter is free to read. To keep it that way, we earn money in the ways described below.
Financing partner compensation. This site has a financing partner. When a visitor submits a financing request through a form on this site and it is passed to a third-party provider, we may be paid per request, per funded deal, or both. That is a financial relationship, and you should weigh it when reading any page that discusses financing options.
- Compensation may affect which providers we refer requests to and where offers or links appear on a page.
- Compensation does not change what we write. Our articles, calculators and explanations of costs, risks and legal issues are written independently, including content critical of merchant cash advances.
- We do not review every provider on the market, and inclusion on this site is not an endorsement.
- You never pay us a fee. Any fees or costs come from the provider, and you should read their contract in full.
- You are never required to use a form on this site. You can apply directly with any lender you choose.
Advertising. This site runs display advertising, including through Google AdSense. Ads are served based on general visitor interest, not on the editorial content of any specific page, and advertisers do not preview or approve articles.
No lender ownership. No merchant cash advance company, bank or lender owns or controls this site. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, and no lender reviews or approves our articles before they are published.
Editorial independence. Our cost explanations, warnings and comparisons follow our editorial standards. Where a cost is not disclosed clearly in a lender’s own marketing, such as the true annualized cost of a factor rate, we say so plainly, even where that makes a product, including a partner’s, look worse.
Questions about how we are paid can be sent through our contact page.
